Antoinette Aquilina

Antoinette Aquilina, Child Protection Consultant – Queensland Terrazzo Repairs Pty Ltd – Managing Director

Antoinette Aquilina has dedicated her life to protecting children, supporting families, and addressing some of society’s most urgent challenges. With over 14 years in the Queensland Police Service, much of it as a Detective Sergeant, she specialised in Child Protection, Juvenile Justice, Domestic and Family Violence, and forensic interviewing. These frontline roles placed her at the heart of safeguarding children, supporting families in crisis, and tackling youth crime. Her expertise extends beyond policing. For more than two decades, Antoinette has been a sought-after trainer, mentor, and advisor in Child Protection, Family Violence, and professional practice. She has equipped government agencies, businesses, and industry specialists with the knowledge and tools to strengthen responses and better protect vulnerable people. More recently, as a Youth Co-Responder across Logan, Ipswich, Moreton, and Brisbane, she has worked directly with high-risk young people and their families—shifting from enforcement to intervention and helping them build safer, more positive futures. Antoinette’s service extends deeply into her community. She is a founding committee member of the Queensland Maltese Australian Community Inc, committed to strengthening cultural identity for future generations. For over 14 years she has volunteered on school P&F associations and local committees, contributing to education, family engagement, and community life. A passionate supporter of the arts and Brisbane Festival, she believes strongly in the role of culture to connect and inspire. Alongside her public service, Antoinette is a successful business owner, having built and operated a company in the construction and terrazzo industry for more than 21 years. This experience has strengthened her leadership, compliance, and financial management skills, giving her a practical understanding of the challenges faced by employers, workers, and families. Now, Antoinette is pursuing a career in politics with a clear goal: to champion policies that protect children, reduce family violence, empower young people, and build safer, stronger, and more connected communities.
