Dr Monique Beedles is an author, speaker and non-executive director who founded specialised strategy consultancy, Teak Yew, in 2004. Teak Yew has a focus on Strategy, Innovation and Asset Management for large companies and government bodies including, mining, rail, utilities, healthcare and defence. Monique holds a PhD in Corporate Strategy and as the winner of a QUT Alumni scholarship, participated in an Executive Education Program at the Harvard Business School in 2012.

Dr Beedles is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and has more than 20 years’ experience as a board director in commercial, government and not-for-profit organisations. Monique is a member of the AICD Faculty and facilitates their director education programs on Strategy and Risk. Monique is passionate about the importance of raising the conversation about Asset Management to the board level and her latest book, Asset Management for Directors, has recently been published by AICD.

Monique is a Certified Asset Management Assessor (CAMA) and a member of the technical committee for the World Partners in Asset Management. Monique is currently a Non-Executive Director of the Asset Management Council and a board member of the Queensland College of Teachers.

Monique has a special interest in mentoring women for leadership, executive and board roles, particularly in traditionally male-dominated fields. Monique is an Executive Advisor for the QUT Executive MBA program, a mentor in the QUT Alumni Fostering Executive Women Program, a mentor for Women on Boards, and for the Women in Technology Board Readiness program. Monique was the winner of the Women in Technology Executive Award in 2010.
