Katie Flannigan
Katie Flannigan B.App.Sci.O.T. and Former National President WCEI
Katie Flannigan is a children’s author and educator, and an environmental and animal activist. She has a health professional background, and despite not having a PhD in climate science, for the last 10 years, has studied the work of those who do. Katie is, however, an expert, in her own experience of navigating the challenge of understanding the science and levers involved in food production, their effect on the environment and how to transition from a dominant culture, to making daily food choices, that are beneficial for the planet, her family’s health, and the animals with whom we cohabit. Katie is also an enthusiastic advocate of examining the biggest social justice challenge of our time – our relationship with our planet and the animal kingdom. Katie lives outside Melbourne with her family, five dogs and four rescue cows.
