Soft Power – Women in Diplomacy
Ruth Baird is a long time friend of WCEI Tasmania and we have had the pleasure to experience her grace and intelligence over the years. Ruth embodies the unique skill of “Soft power” , an ability to engage with other cultures with respect and integrity, build mutual understanding and create an environment for initiatives to take shape.
Before returning home to accept the role of Director DFAT Tasmania, Ruth was the Acting Australian High Commissioner in the Cook Islands. Her immersive Island life experience is a treasure trove of stories that delight and inspire.
Listening to Ruth speak is a masterclass in engagement and connection and every interaction leaves you feeling seen and heard.
Ruth will soon be moving to her next international diplomatic post and I invite you to come and listen to Ruth one last time before she leaves her Island home. Come and enjoy a beautiful evening meal and a glass of wine together as we raise a toast to Ruth to her ongoing international success.
