DESCRIPTION:Join us for an inspiring white-tablecloth\, sit-down luncheon as we delve into Lara’s incredible journey – her challenges\, triumphs\, and everything in between. Connect with fellow WCEI members and their guests over a delicious meal and a glass of wine\, leaving you motivated and uplifted! \nLara van Raay is a documentarian\, field and social impact producer based in Tasmania\, ‘Chief Story Catcher’ at Small World Documentaries and Trainer & Outreach with Women for Election. In her words\, “I adore working in the factual space and am focused on creating stories that engage\, entertain and educate.”. \nLara is an award-winning filmmaker specialising in short form documentaries through her production company Small World Documentaries. Early in her career she was told to multi-skill\, and as a result she is just as happy producing\, directing\, production managing\, shooting and editing. She has worked as a content creator for the ABC\, National Geographic\, MBC in Dubai and the creative agency BDA in London. She worked on the feature Mary Meets Mohammad which would go on to be a Walkley finalist. Recently she worked on Christmas Island with Plimsoll Productions shooting and producing behind-the-scenes for their latest animal migration series. \nOur theme this year focusses on the need to Accelerate Action\, emphasising the importance of taking swift and decisive steps to achieve gender equality.
