WCEI 2018 National Forum

Dear Fellow Members

NATIONAL FORUM
It was wonderful to see many of you at the National Forum and AGM in Hobart over the past few days. Everyone seemed to enjoy the Forum immensely and gain some great ideas to implement.

For those who were unable to be there, our Secretariat will shortly make available online access to some of the highlights.

The Tasmanian Forum Organising Committee ( comprising Jandy Godfrey, Di Tompson, Kimberley Martin, Joan McGovern and Margaret Sutherland) have met weekly from the beginning of this year to meticulously plan and organise the Forum.

Their hard work resulted in attendees being addressed by speakers of the highest calibre who collectively provided us with an extensive range of ideas relating to the Forum theme - ‘Women on Top - Getting there and Staying there’.

The National Forum was also a wonderful way to bring the various State branches together and to be reminded of the benefits of being part of WCEI which has representation at a State, National and International level.

I again thank the co-State Presidents of Tasmania and members of the Forum Organising Committee for their wonderful efforts and for warmly welcoming us to Hobart.

Our next National Forum will be in Sydney in October 2019 and I thank the Sydney branch for agreeing to host it.  I hope as many of you as possible will be there to enjoy the Forum.

THE AGM
Once the minutes from the AGM are finalised I will arrange for the Secretariat to send a copy to you. In the meantime, in brief:
- the financial statements and my report as National President together with the reports from each State President were tabled and accepted.
- the proposals (listed in my report ) for the year ahead were discussed at the AGM and at the subsequent meeting of the National Council. Plans for the implementation of them were agreed upon.
- A marketing/communications meeting chaired by Queensland State President Liz Ward was held prior to the AGM. It resulted in a great exchange of ideas which will undoubtably bring benefits to all State branches.

Over the coming months I will send you further information about initiatives that the National Council is undertaking. It will also be great to hear from Diane Tompson about the FCEM Congress in Russia which she will be attending later this month.

In the meantime, I look forward to seeing you at the various events being organised by each of the State branches over the next few weeks.

Warm regards,

Margot
